The war in Afghanistan
How may of you think we should escalate our involvement in Afghanistan? President Obama wants to send more troops into Afghanistan. This decision could be one of the most important decisions of his presidency. Should President Obama send in additional troops? Or declare victory and withdrawal our troops and hand over security to a stabilization force consisting of troops from many nations? Although Obama may be leaning towards this, he is still reviewing his options. Vice President Biden has deep reservations about ramping up the war effort tin Afghanistan. Many Americans feel that Vice President Biden needs to act on his own reservations and not only those of Obama. The escalation of troops in Afghanistan will also escalate contact with terrorists and lead to more lose of lives.
Many American families are being affected by another war that may never be able to be won. As the Obama administration continues to spend billions of dollars on foreign soil, the U.S. economy continues to struggle. We should concentrate on our issues at home, without weakening our position on terrorism. Keeping terrorism outside our borders could be accomplished without investing in more troops being deployed on foreign soil. Do we continue to spend billons of dollars deploying troops on foreign soil while people in the U.S. are struggling to keep their homes and jobs?
